Senior Game Designer

Your Future at Tilting Point

  • Utilize industry best practices to design, implement and balance major game systems, gameplay and content.
  • Create clear and concise design documentation, including technical specs, diagrams, and spreadsheets, to effectively communicate design concepts and requirements to the external dev team.
  • Analyze data and player feedback to identify opportunities for improvement, balance, and optimization in game mechanics, economy, and overall player experience.
  • Stay informed about 4X games  industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to maintain a cutting-edge understanding of game design principles and techniques.
  • Collaborate with engineers, UI/UX designers, and artists to deliver robust game systems on time and at exceptional quality.
  • Contribute to and maintain design department resources and learnings through market research and application.
  • Master one or more mobile game genres.  Learn how competitors fail and succeed, and propose designs based on your learnings and the context of the project.
  • Integrate with third party developers to create games from start to finish and through live operations (or insert yourself anywhere in between).
  • Optimize development and live operations through data evaluation, design process or tool improvements.

  • Reliability: Demonstrated ability to make and execute on long term commitments and earn trust of colleagues.
  • Strong communication skills: Convey ideas effectively; verbally, visually and written.
  • Toolbox: Experience with game engines, spreadsheets, systems documentation, and data analytics.
  • Bonus: Scripting/Coding experience. Experience using YML, JSON, XML or similar markup languages. 

Your XP & Skills

  • 5y+ Experience in 4X games with success (daily revenue 100k+, Top 100 all games)
  • Strong skills set in designing FTUE (seamless onboarding), feature and event design and data driven decision making
  • You worked as a Game Designer, Systems Designer, Level Designer or Economy Designer on at least 2 live games, handling the design and release of at least 10 updates
  • You have worked in Design positions on at least 2 different genres
  • You have a broad understanding of all areas of game design and have expertise in at least one of them
  • Excellent Excel and analytical skills
  • Good judgment: you can take decisions despite ambiguity, thinking strategically and using data to inform your creative intuition
  • Impact driven: you make your team better, you focus on results, you accomplish amazing amounts of meaningful work (as opposed to useless hours)
  • Passionate: you inspire through your drive for excellence, you care deeply about our players and your colleagues, you are optimistic
  • Creative: you find simple solutions to hard problems, you challenge the status quo, you create new features that generate better and stronger experiences

Nice to Have

  • Affinity towards or familiar with Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra IP
