Art Lead

Saint-Petersburg, Russia

We are looking for a talented and well-rounded Art Lead to oversee the production of game assets and definition of art style with direction from our Head of Product. The ideal candidate will be comfortable understanding production goals and leveraging different art styles to create a wide range of compelling assets and lead a team across multiple disciplines (UI, 3D, Animation, 2D, etc).

The ideal candidate should be an experienced storyteller, experienced in creating art assets which resonate with audiences across multiple game genres. They must be versatile in creating and manipulating art assets into polished, usable formats across the same wide range of mediums. Additionally, this designer must be flexible and enjoy working on a variety of different projects while being able to manage multiple overlapping deadlines.

Your Future at TPM

  • Provide artistic leadership and lead a team to drive the overall vision of the project.
  • Help review and mentor younger artists.
  • Follow the work of the team and ensure they reach the expected artistic quality 
  • Contribute to the art pipeline definition and develop milestones for the art team.
  • Take ownership and resolve art issues.
  • Has visibility into asset delivery dates; can speak to this in absence of the Producer.
  • Participates in creative brainstorming sessions in coordination with Creative Director and Product Managers.
  • Present project proposals and team updates to company stakeholders.
  • Meets with the Creative Directors, Producers, and Product Managers as needed for reviews, sprint planning, and roadmap planning.
  • Collaborate with different teams.

Your XP & Skills

  • A minimum of 5 years’ professional experience as an artist in the video game industry.
  • 3 years of experience managing other artists.
  • Proven proficiency in current 2D and 3D applications including 3Ds Max, Zbrush, Photoshop.
  • High levels of creativity, and demonstrated ability to generate innovative concepts, designs, and ideas
  • Exceptional eye for composition, contrast, and color
  • Understanding of art pipeline technology trends
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with frequent priority shifts
  • Effectively communicate across verbal and written form.
  • Able to work well in a collaborative team environment, and within an iterative design process
  • Passion for games, including interest in free-to-play mobile games
  • Must have high level of English language fluency.
